About Us

Amy Shanahan founded Amy Michelle Hair in 2016. After working in hairdressing for over 20 years in the UK and Ireland.

Amy started at 15 in her local salon and fell in love with making people feel better through great hair. She went on to work and train in a well-known Irish salon before moving to London in 2008 with boyfriend (now husband). In London Amy got to work as a freelance hairdresser meaning she could work at some of London’s top salons while also working great events like London Fashion Week, The X-Factor, and had a few high-profile clients where she was a personal hairdresser to the stars. It was in London where Amy really honed her craft.

Always the homebird Amy moved home in 2011 and started working with hair extensions and wigs. Looking after people who needed help with scalp health, hair loss due to illness or pregnancy became a passion for Amy and when opening her own salon this offering was always going to be a front of house bespoke offering.

After years of working with clients and searching for the perfect product to suit their needs Amy set about sourcing this product, and in 2018 Refine Hair Extensions was launched.

Refine was created for the customer, by the customer. Hair extensions are created in colourways that suit our client’s hair texture and colour; products were created to care for your hair and extensions.

Having the confidence in knowing 100% where the hair used in sourced ensures the product is sustainable, ethical and good for our client’s hair. It is this care and attention to detail that has made Amy Michelle Hair one of Irelands leading Salon for Hair Extensions.
